CLOSELY SPACED HIGH ASPECT EXTRUDED GRIDLINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a closely spaced high aspect ratio extruded gridlines.

SOLUTION: A closely spaced high aspect ratio gridline structure is formed on the surface of a substrate such that deposited gridline materials are compressed between facing portions of sacrifice materials, using two or more coextrusion heads for coextruding the gridline material and the sacrifice material. The coextrusion head includes a three channel cavity structure that converges to a relatively small outlet orifice for supplying gridline material having a relatively fine feature and a relatively high aspect ratio. The outlet orifices of the coextrusion head are alternately disposed such that a gridline extruded from a first coextrusion head is disposed between two gridlines extruded from a second coextrusion head. An photovoltaic cell having a metal gridlines formed in such a manner is produced.
