PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pop-up hood apparatus capable of easily lifting and pulling down a hood by one actuator. SOLUTION: The pop-up hood apparatus 1 comprises an energy absorbing arm 30 to be connected to the actuator 10, a hood lifting arm 40 which is rotatably connected to the hood 101 at one end thereof, and a locking mechanism section for fixing the hood lifting arm 40 to the hood 101. The hood 101 is lifted upward by releasing the fixing of the locking mechanism section by the extending motion of the piston of the actuator 10 and by the connection of the energy absorbing arm 30 to the hood lifting arm 40. By the return motion of the piston of the actuator 10, the energy absorbing arm 30 pulls down the hood lifting arm 40, and the energy absorbing arm 30 and the hood lifting arm 40 are separated, and the locking mechanism section is fixed.
