An image recording apparatus having a backup function, a broadcasting recording and reproducing apparatus, and a backup apparatus are provided to back up recorded various images in another backup storing medium through a wireless communication type like a Bluetooth type and receive and use the backed-up images again in case of necessity. A wireless communication unit(11) transmits and receives data by a wireless communication type. A storing unit(12) stores an image file. An encryption processing unit(13) encrypts or decrypts the image file. A file system converting unit(14) converts a file system between backup devices. A user interface unit(15) allows a user to input a control signal. A control unit(16) controls the encryption and the file system conversion for the image file to be backed up according to the input signal of the user interface unit, and transmits the image file by wireless. The control unit controls the file system conversion and the decryption for data to be recovered, and stores the data in the storing unit.
