<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide purified GABA<SB>B</SB>receptors, receptor proteins, and nucleic acids which encode such proteins, to provide methods for isolating other members of the GABA<SB>B</SB>receptor family using a DNA cloning technology and probes derived from the sequences, to provide novel members of the GABA<SB>B</SB>receptor family isolated by such methods, and to further provide the use of the GABA<SB>B</SB>receptors and receptor proteins and cells transformed with a gene encoding a GABA<SB>B</SB>receptor protein in identifying and characterizing compounds which modulate the activity of the GABA<SB>B</SB>receptor. <P>SOLUTION: Purified GABA<SB>B</SB>receptors and receptor proteins having significant homology with the GABA<SB>B</SB>receptors and a DNAs encoding the receptors are provided. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
