PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance a frequency bandwidth as a diaphragm type ultrasonic transducer, without decreasing the effective sensitivity of the transmission/reception waves. SOLUTION: A beam structure 7 is formed on the top or the inside of a diaphragm 6 of the diaphragm-type ultrasonic transducer. A plurality of diaphragms, having the same dimension of the diaphragms and different widths of beams, are simultaneously driven electrically, thereby achieving wide band, while suppressing the gap between the diaphragms.
