PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide communication equipment for using the other equipment to receive electronic mail by proxy when the receiver equipment is busy. SOLUTION: When communication equipment 1 transmits electronic mail to communication equipment 2 while the communication equipment 2 is busy, the communication equipment 1 transmits information for specifying an alternative unit stored in an alternative unit storage part 23, for example, information for specifying the communication equipment 3 in response to the notification of a receiver address from the communication equipment 1, and performs the notification of the alternative unit. The communication equipment 1 which has received the notification of the alternative unit ends communication with the communication equipment 2, and transmits electronic mail to the designated alternative unit.
