PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spectrophotometer capable of removing, from the analysis result, influence due to the dispersion in optical characteristics, such as dispersion in shape of a measuring vessel existing as individual differences. SOLUTION: In the spectrophotometer is made to transmit through a measuring light through a sample stored in a measuring vessel, compares the measuring light with the reference light that is not transmitted through the sample, and detects the attenuation of the measuring light by the sample; the reference light is transmitted through a part of the measuring vessel that does not have samples.
