<p>A multi-layered construction particularly useful in pneumatic tires and hoses comprising a fluid permeation prevention layer having upper and lower surfaces; a layer comprising at least one high diene rubber in laminate relation with the fluid permeation prevention layer upper surface; wherein there is present on the lower fluid permeation prevention layer surface at least one thin, substantially continuous surface or layer comprising at least one metal or metal oxide, the metal or metal oxide surface or layer in communication with the fluid; and wherein the fluid permeation prevention layer preferably comprises at least one polyamide resin composition and, preferably, a halogen-containing elastomer, preferably brominated poly(isobutylene-co-paramethylstyrene), wherein the elastomer component is vulcanized and dispersed as a discontinuous phase in a matrix of the polyamide resin composition. A thermoplastic film layer and suitable adhesives optionally can be included between the metal and/or metal oxide containing surface or layer and fluid permeation prevention layer.</p> |
