A barrier allowing pedestrians through while slowing or preventing vehicle traffic comprised of support poles 12 supporting a cross bar 11 at a height to permit a vehicle to pass thereunder but not a person if mounted on the vehicle, and a walk-through section 13 positioned adjacent to the cross bar to permit a person to walk around the crossbar 11 but dimensioned to impede a vehicle from moving around the crossbar 11. In a preferred form the walk-through section 13 is a V or U shape in plan where the cross bar extends from a midpoint between the open legs of the V. Also claimed is a cross bar supported by a single support pole thus creating a gap 22 allowing the person to maintain contact with the handle bars when pushing their bicycle through the barrier. |
