A laser welding device capable of efficient welding. The laser welding device seals a workpiece by applying a laser beam to it. The laser welding device has work areas for performing work on workpieces. An application position change section receives a laser beam from a laser beam emission section to change that position on a workpiece to which the laser beam is applied and performs welding of the workpieces in the work areas. Further, in order that welding is performed for the workpieces on a work-area-by-work-area basis, movement means moves the application position change section to that position in each work area where the application position change section is to be placed. That is, the laser beam emission section and the application position change section are moved for work by a single device. By this, welding is efficiently performed to increase the amount of production by the entire device.
