The method involves measuring a utilized broadband capacity per broadband-Internet access for control purposes. A priority sequence of broadband-internet accesses, which represents the utilization intensity, is determined by a central server (3) for providing more bandwidth for the broadband-Internet accesses with higher priority than the broadband-Internet accesses with lower priority. The utilization intensity is determined on the basis of the utilized data volume, online time, synchronization factor with users and/or utilization time intervals during a defined peak traffic period. An independent claim is also included for a system for the capacity-control of broadband-Internet accesses using common access points.
