The method for processing sugar beets (4) in a fermentable aqueous suspension (5), comprises washing the sugar beets by guiding through a working region of a washing nozzle, cutting the washed sugar beets and suspending the minced sugar beets in water. The washing water from the washing nozzle discharges in the form of a cleaning beam. The washing water loaded with impurities of the sugar beet is led. The washed sugar beet is led through the working region of a cutting nozzle, from which washing water discharges in the form of cutting beam, which cuts the sugar beet. The washed sugar beet is led through the working region of a cutting nozzle, from which washing water discharges in the form of cutting beam, which cuts the sugar beet so that the minced sugar beet passes with the water through a shifter, which holds back the unminced sugar beet and coarse foreign material. A mass ratio of the minced sugar beet to the water that discharges as the cutting beam is 1:2. The washing water led through the washing nozzle and through the cutting nozzle is less than 100 bar and 300-400 bar respectively. A water nozzle that supplies the water with different pressure is used as washing nozzle or as cutting nozzle. A rotation plate, on which the sugar beets are led through the working region of the washing nozzle and the cutting nozzle, is propelled with a number of revolutions during the washing of the sugar beets. The sugar beet is supplied with the water to a settling tank and the fermentable suspension is removed from the upside of a settler tank base. An independent claim is included for a device for processing sugar beets into a fermentable aqueous suspension.
|
