A frequency phase synchronization apparatus and a method thereof are provided to compensate an operational control voltage of a local oscillator for an error between the operational control voltage and a control voltage determined by a phase comparator. A phase synchronization unit(205) detects a minimum control voltage and a maximum control voltage of a local oscillator(230) and performs a phase synchronization process. A memory(245) stores the minimum control voltage and the maximum control voltage. A calculation unit(250) produces an operational control voltage of the local oscillator corresponding to a frequency of a mobile communication terminal on the basis of the minimum control voltage and the maximum control voltage, and applies the produced operational control voltage to a control voltage for operating the local oscillator. The local oscillator changes an oscillating frequency and outputs an output frequency to the phase synchronization unit and an output terminal. When an error is generated between the output voltage of the phase synchronization unit and the control voltage, the calculation unit updates the minimum control voltage and the maximum control voltage by adding an error value to the minimum control voltage and the maximum control voltage, and stores the updated voltages in the memory. |
