An upward flow type manganese contact column is provided to supply raw water to a manganese catalyst layer uniformly and suppress abrasion of manganese catalyst due to collision among the manganese catalysts, thereby realizing a stable treatment performance for a long time. A column body has a manganese catalyst layer filled with granular manganese catalysts. A chamber room(2), into which raw water flows, is formed at the bottom of the column body. A plurality of dispersion nozzles(8) is disposed on an upper surface of the chamber room to supply the raw water to the manganese catalyst layer. Each of the dispersion nozzles has an umbrella portion(12) above the perpendicular nozzle body. The lower end of the umbrella portion is elongated below an upper end of the nozzle body. Further, a perpendicular typed separator is installed at both sides of the dispersion nozzle.
