#CMT# #/CMT# The post (1) has a radicular part (12) introduced in a canal (7) of a root (8), and a coronary part forming a cylindrical divisible head. A crown-shaped positioning cap (2) has retaining units (6) e.g. pin, in an intrados, and a locating element (4) e.g. rib, on an outer surface. The cap is mounted on the coronary part after adjusting length of the coronary part, by enabling the units to co-operate with retaining units (5) e.g. notches, arranged in a stump (10) of the coronary part. The units have complementary male and female shapes, where the post and the cap are made of calcinable resin. #CMT# : #/CMT# An independent claim is also included for a method of positioning a dental post in a prosthetic impression. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Dental post for being placed in a root of a tooth. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The post has a standardized design, and can be fabricated and assembled in a simple and inexpensive manner. The configuration of the post and the cap allows free adjustment of the coronary part, and reduces the number of pieces required for taking imprint and designing a prosthetic piece.
