A rain sensor is provided to obtain a holding device for individually optimizing the respective components and to securely mount a wind screen. A rain sensor includes a housing part(12), a mounting frame(10), and a sensor element. The housing part accommodates the sensor element such that the sensor element is disposed in the housing. The mounting frame having a flat rectangular shape is attached to an inner surface of the wind screen. The mounting frame has a recessed part for accommodating the housing. Two fixing devices are attached to a short side of the housing part to opposite to each other. Each fixing device includes a lever(18) pivotally installed at the housing part, and an elastic bracket(16) pivotally installed at the lever.
