PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intercom system that is upgraded in performance of the interphone and improved in security. SOLUTION: An entrance subunit 2 includes a camera 10, a display/input device 11, a speaker 12, a microphone 13, a sensor 14, a call button 15, a communication control section 16 and a control section 17, which are connected via a bus. The display/input device 11 has a backlight 11a, a display screen 11b and a touch panel 11c. A family name of the dweller(s) is largely displayed on the display screen 11b of the entrance subunit 2 in a predetermined font in a normal mode.
