PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a display panel having increased strength of a substrate of a display panel. SOLUTION: The display panel 100 is manufactured by cutting a large-size substrate. The display panel 100 includes a dam part 701 damming etching liquid 51 raised by capillary phenomenon in a space 101 which is sandwiched between an upper substrate 300 and a lower substrate 200 and is outside a seal member 700. When the display panel is etched, the display panel 100 is soaked into the etching liquid while holding an area 201 where a wiring pattern is provided and the dam part 701 in a position higher than the liquid level of the etching liquid 51. As a result, the cross-sectional shape of a flaw in the etched part is smoothed, and the strength of the display panel 100 is increased. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
