<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a light source device that prolongs a service lifetime of a discharge tube, and a display device. <P>SOLUTION: The light source device includes a discharge tube 24, a reflector 26 for reflecting light radiated from the discharge tube 24, and support members 25 for supporting the discharge tube 24 to the reflector 26. Each support member 25 is arranged at each position inwardly located from each end part of the discharge tube 24 so as to prevent a temperature drop at each part in the discharge tube near at least one electrode 24A of the discharge tube 24. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
