PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an eyelet sewing machine for facilitating threading an eye of a sewing needle with an upper thread when threading the upper thread is required during sewing. SOLUTION: When a sewing mechanism is instructed to rotate so that the sewing needle may turn in a predetermined direction, the position of a feed table is detected (S927), and interference between a needle plate provided on the upper surface of the feed table and a needle guard plate provided above loopers is determined from the detected position of the feed table when the sewing mechanism is rotated (S930). When the interference between the needle plate and the needle guard plate is determined in the step S930 (S930:Yes), the feed table is moved to a position at which the needle plate and the needle guard plate do not interfere with each other when the sewing mechanism is rotated so that the sewing needle may turn in the predetermined direction (S935), and then a rotation mechanism is driven so that the sewing needle may turn in the predetermined direction (S940).
