<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and accurately adjust optimal tracking offset during recording. <P>SOLUTION: An optical disk device is provided in which a CPU sets reference tracking offset and determines reference recording power by OPC processing, the CPU then changes the tracking offset to trace the predetermined area of an optical disk by using erasing power calculated based on the determined reference recording power, a DSP obtains an address information reading rate which is a reading rate of address information when changing, under control of the CPU, the tracking offset within a predetermined range to trace data to the predetermined area of the optical disk, the CPU determines recording-time tracking offset used for recording in the optical disk based on the obtained address reading rate, the CPU then adjusts the determined recording-time tracking offset by using a tracking offset register incorporated in an RF amplifier. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
