[PROBLEMS TO BE SOLVED] Making a television receiver smoothly display a list of contents of a video recorder improves users' operability of selection for the video contents. [MEANS FOR SOLVING THE PROBLEMS] A video camera recorder (source device) (10A) is connected with a television receiver (synch device) (30A) through an HDMI cable (1). The video camera recorder (10A) is provided with an HDMI transmitter (HDMI TX) (28) and a high speed data line I/F (28A). The television receiver (30A) is provided with an HDMI receiver (HDMI RX) (32) and a high speed data line I/F (32A). In response to a transmission request from a side of the television receiver (30A), the video camera recorder (10A) transmits added information (a list of contents and thumbnail data) at high speed to the television receiver (30A) by using a high speed data line comprised of a predetermined line of the HDMI cable (1).
