摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform highly precise noise rejection and edge storage in which luminance levels of images, difference of noise at a positive side and a negative side are considered for images having different characteristics.

SOLUTION: A noise rejection means has: a low frequency component acquisition means for acquiring low frequency components in which characteristics are unified from the images; a high frequency component acquisition means for acquiring high frequency components in which the characteristics are unified from the images; a noise amount calculation means for calculating noise amounts on the positive side and the negative side according to levels of the low frequency components; an edge amount detection means for detecting an edge amount in which the characteristics are unified from the images; an edge compensation coefficient calculation means for calculating an edge compensation coefficient based on the edge amount and the noise amounts on the positive side and the negative side; a coring means for performing coring to the high frequency components based on the noise amounts on the positive side and the negative side; an adjustment means for adjusting a coring degree based on the edge compensation coefficient and an adding means for adding the high frequency components cored by the adjusted coring degree and the low frequency components together.
