The device (1) has a movable unit (15) i.e. trap door, mounted on a lateral guide (12) in downstream of a transferring zone (11). An actuating unit (18) is associated to the unit (15) for selectively causing its displacement between rest and operational positions. A detection unit (19) is situated in upstream of the unit (15) and detects an undesirable preform e.g. defective deform, that is placed in a horizontal transporting ring (3). The unit (19) is connected to the unit (18) for bringing the unit (15) in its operational position for ejection of the preform when the preform is detected.
