METHOD FOR RECORDING FILE SPLIT IN OPTICAL DISC DEVICE

A split recording method in an optical disk device is provided to separately record a plurality of files onto different optical disks by identifying and comparing a storage capacity of the optical disks and a data capacity of a plurality of files to be recorded. A split recording method in an optical disk device comprises the steps of: respectively identifying a storage capacity for a plurality of optical disks loaded in a disk cartridge, and a data storage for a plurality of files to be recorded on the optical disks; recording at least one file by splitting them onto separate optical disks based on the identified storage capacity and data capacity; creating management information for connecting and reproducing the split files, and recording and managing on the different separate optical disks.
