APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR MANAGING DATA SECURITY

An apparatus and a method for managing security data are provided to determine whether ineffective security data recorded at an one time programmable block is caused by abrupt power interception or a hacker such that an efficient complete security test can be performed and resources of a device can be prevented from being wasted. An apparatus for managing security data includes a security data recording unit(110), a security data checking unit(120), an error determining unit(130), a storage unit(140) and a controller(150). The security data recording unit records security data and its inverted value together at an one time programmable block of the storage unit. The security data checking unit checks whether or not the security data is effective by checking invert relationship between the security data and its inverted value. The error determining unit determines whether ineffective security data is caused by abrupt power interruption or a hacker if the security data is not effective. The storage unit stores the security data and its inverted value. The controller controls operations each functional component blocks.
