PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a particulate classification method and an apparatus capable of precisely classifying even particulates of particle sizes of less than several microns with a complete continuous system in terms of time. SOLUTION: Since rotary seals 16 at both ends of a rotor for connection of channels between a rotating centrifugal rotor 11 and a stationary outside are used, classification to fine particles equal to those of the precedent patented inventions is made possible, and since the temperature difference of a density gradient material for density gradient formation, precise control of temperature is not needed. The structure of the present invention enabling the above has a non-connection type fifth channel provided near a rotor rotating shaft, in addition to (2+2=) four channels formed by the rotary seals 16 provided to both ends of the centrifugal rotor 11. Projects are figured out for securing a retention time in the centrifugal rotor 11 and for suppressing increase of the width when loading a sample. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
