PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric synchronous machine of a double rotor provided with a mechanism for adjusting the relative angular displacement of a rotor and an adjustment mechanism, capable of carrying high torque load, during the operation of an apparatus, in order to reduce the back electromotove force, in an electric synchronous machine. SOLUTION: The electric synchronous machine 10 is provided with a housing, and a first and a second shafts 46, 48 supported rotatably inside the housing. Each of the first and second shafts has corresponding rotors 60, 62 fixed thereto, and they both have permanent magnet field poles. Respective rotors are enclosed by corresponding annular stators 54, 56, and stator coils are wound around the both stators. A planetary speed change gear 20 is coupled between the first and second shafts, and the planetary speed change gear can operate so as to adjust orientation angle of the second shaft, with respect to the first shaft, while the first and second shafts are rotating.
