FIELD: petroleum and gas extracting industry, in particular, methods used for geophysical explorations of casing-to-borehole annuluses and intended for determination of interval of gas overflow in casing-to-borehole annulus. SUBSTANCE: the method is based on neutron and gamma-ray logging throughout the whole borehole shaft, recording of diagrams of intensities of secondary gamma radiation and their comparison. Innovation is in the fact that recording of diagrams of intensities of secondary gamma radiation is performed at maximum or fully released pressures, and the interval of gas overflow is determined according to the excess of intensities of secondary gamma radiation recorded at the maximum pressure in the casing-to-borehole annulus over intensities of secondary gamma radiation recorded at the fully released pressure in the casing to-borehole annulus by a value exceeding the error of their recording.
