A rotation angle detection device having a rotor (120) that is installed on a rotation body (Sh) as a target for rotation measurement so as to rotate with the rotation body (Sh) and has a magnet (110) for changing the density of magnetic flux around the rotation body (Sh) according to its rotational angle; a stator (130) that is installed so as to be independent of the rotation of the rotation body (Sh); a detection element ((150) (151-154)) that detects a change in magnetic flux density of the magnet which occurs as the rotation body (Sh) rotates; and a case that receives the rotor, stator, and detection element. Because the rotation angledetection device detects the rotation angle of the rotation body (Sh) according to a detection signal that is from the detection element and occurs as the rotation body (Sh) rotates, the rotational angle detection device has less number of parts, is small-sized, is easily assembled, and has excellent detection characteristics.
