<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To satisfactorily enhance tumble flow created in a cylinder during an intake stroke and to generate intense turbulence in the cylinder by keeping strong tumble flow until a latter half of a compression stroke in a cylinder direct injection spark ignition internal combustion engine executing Atkinson cycle operation with close timing of an intake valve delayed. <P>SOLUTION: Tumble flow T in the cylinder is intensified by fuel F injected by a fuel injection valve 10 during a period from intake bottom dead center to intake valve opening. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
