<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control device of an internal combustion engine wherein the layout characteristics around an exhaust manifold can be improved. <P>SOLUTION: The device includes a main exhaust duct 2 which is connected with an exhaust port 1a of a cylinder head 1 and has a main catalyst 4, a bypass exhaust duct 5 which is formed in parallel with the main exhaust duct and has a sub-catalyst 5a, a communicating passage which is provided inside the cylinder head and connects the exhaust port and the bypass exhaust duct, a flow path switching valve 6 which is provided in a confluent portion of the exhaust port and communicating passage to switch a direction of an exhaust flow to either one of the main exhaust duct and bypass exhaust duct, and a controller 30 which switches the flow path switching valve depending on a warming-up condition of an internal combustion engine. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
