A frequency spectrum management method and device can be used for the xDSL system. The method mainly includes: determining a transmission power spectrum density mask based on the cross talk conditions of the lines (S1102), and performing the iterative water filling calculation using the transmission power spectrum density mask (S1104); then managing the frequency spectrum of the lines dynamically using the result of the iterative water filling calculation (S1106). Therefore, the implemental examples of the present invention can make DSLAM be close to the performance of OSM in the case of the cross talk conditions being worse, without the center controller and in the case of using the simpler algorithm. And the design of the DSLAM preference system can be simplified, the proper balance between the performance of DSLAM and the complexity can be realized. |
