PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing method and a printer by which a highly precise pattern is continuously formed on a flexible base material such as a glass base material, a plastic film, especially, a long-sized plastic film with a good productive efficiency. SOLUTION: On the ink peelable film base material which is fed from a taking-up roll, an ink liquid membrane is applied by coating. The ink liquid membrane is preliminarily dried, and after obtaining the preliminarily dried ink membrane, a relief printing plate for which a required image section pattern is made into a recess section is pressed to the preliminarily dried ink membrane, and a non-image section is transferred to the protruding section of the relief printing plate. The image pattern by the preliminarily dried ink membrane which is left on the ink peelable film base material is transferred onto the surface of an aimed base material to be printed by this printing method.
