PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct meandering of a flat belt responsively and appropriately with simple constitution, concerning a flat belt conveyor meandering correction method and a device. SOLUTION: This method to correct meandering of a flat belt conveyor 12 supporting the flat belt 14 by rollers 16, 18 on both ends in the conveying direction is constituted to detect meandering of the flat belt 14 by a meandering detection sensor 22 and to cause uneven distribution of resistance against travelling of the flat belt 14 in the belt cross direction by adding pressurizing force to a flat surface of the flat belt 14 in a direction orthogonal to the surface by a cylinder 28 which a meandering correction mechanism 26 has when meandering of the flat belt 14 is detected by the meandering detection sensor 22.
