<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk recording device and an optical disk recording method in which optimum recording power is selected in accordance with property of an optical disk and recording is performed. <P>SOLUTION: OPC is performed three times before recording operation of the optical disk, respective optimum recording power obtained from three times OPC are averaged, and optimum recording power used for recording operation is obtained. Concretely, recording is performed continuously for three regions 16 to 18 continued 10 sectors by 10 sectors, successively, read-in is performed continuously for this three regions 16 to 18, results obtained from three regions 16 to 18 are averaged, and optimum recording power is obtained.
