CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent power output from wheels 10 from deteriorating accompanied by a clutch device 4 start of an engine 1 when starting the engine 1 from the state in which only power output from an electric motor 3 is used for driving.

SOLUTION: Power (torque) input into a toroidal continuously variable transmission 9 is computed from a differential pressure between a pair of oil pressure chambers of an actuator composing the toroidal continuously variable transmission 9 and the speed ratio of the toroidal continuously variable transmission 9. At least either power output from the electric motor 3 or a fastening pressure of an fastening member composing the clutch device 4 is controlled according to the power (torque) thus computed.
