<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve riding comfort by reducing a shock when a clutch is disengaged during shift operation in a saddle-riding vehicle having a shift controller for performing clutch operation and shift operation by using the power of an actuator. <P>SOLUTION: The actuator is controlled according to the rotational position and the rotational speed of a shift shaft. When the rotational position of the shift shaft is set between a first position and a second position, the shift shaft is rotated at a speed lower than the rotational speed at which the shift shaft reaches the first position to engage a shift clutch at low speed. The first position and the second position are so set that, when the shift shaft is set at the rotational position between the first position and the second position, the shift clutch is brought into a half-clutch state. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
