<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polarizing plate with retardation film which has high productivity, hardly causes curling due to a change in temperature and humidity and is excellent in moisture proof property, and to provide a liquid crystal display device which hardly causes light leakage due to the change in temperature and humidity. <P>SOLUTION: The polarizing plate includes: a polarizing film; a protective film (A) which is stacked on one side surface of the polarizing film and uses a polymer film (a) as a base; and a protective film (B) which is stacked on the other side surface of the polarizing film and uses a polymer film (b) as a base, wherein water vapor permeability at 60°C, 95%RH of the protective film (A) is ≤200 g/(m<SP>2</SP>day) and the difference between hygroscopic swelling coefficient of the protective film (A) and hygroscopic swelling coefficient of the protective film (B) is ≤10 ppm/%RH. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
