PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a program recorder capable of preventing an unneeded program from being uselessly recorded in the case that there is the unneeded program in programs reserved to be recorded by the specification of a recording time zone and a recording channel, and a program recording method. SOLUTION: A recording reservation part 18 specifies the program to be broadcasted in the specified recording time zone of the specified recording channel on the basis of a program guide inside a program guide storage part 13 when a user specifies the recording time zone and the recording channel through an operation input part 12, specifies a broadcasting time zone and a broadcasting channel for the specified program further, prepares a reservation list including them as the recording time zone and the recording channel, stores it in a reservation list storage part 14, also displays it at a display part 17, and further, when the user instructs the cancellation of the recording reservation of the program inside the reservation list through the operation input part 12, erases the program for which the cancellation of the recording reservation is instructed from the reservation list and updates the reservation list.
