A plasma display device and a driving method thereof are provided to easily adjust white balance by using a sensor unit, thereby maintaining superior display quality irrespective of a driving time of a plasma display panel. A plasma display device includes a plasma display panel(10) displaying an image; a chassis base(14) attached to the panel; and a printed circuit board assembly(16) mounted on the chassis base. A sensor unit(24) is formed on a rear surface of the panel. The chassis base includes openings for receiving the sensor unit. A heat radiating sheet(12) is interposed between the panel and the chassis base, and has openings corresponding to the portion of the chassis base on which the sensor unit is formed.
