A plasma display panel is provided to reduce reflection of external light by using a subtractive mixing method, thereby improving bright room contrast and thus forming an image with high quality. A first substrate(1) and a second substrate(11) are placed in parallel, and a front filter is formed on one surface of the second substrate. Address electrodes(3) are formed on the first substrate, and are covered by a first dielectric layer. Barrier ribs(7) are formed on the first dielectric layer to form discharge spaces, and R,G,B phosphor layers(9) are formed in the respective discharge spaces. Bus electrodes(13b) are formed on the second substrate to cross the address electrodes. A colored layer is formed on one surface of the second substrate at a portion corresponding to a non-discharge region, and is covered by a second dielectric layer which is covered by a protective layer(17).
