GATE DRIVING CIRCUIT AND DISPLAY APPARATUS HAVING THE SAME

A gate driver and a display apparatus including the same are provided to reduce the size of a pull-up transistor by implementing large charge capacity in buffer, carry, and first and second ripple preventing transistors. A gate driver includes plural stages. Each of the stages includes pull-up, buffer, discharge, and pull-down transistors. The pull-up transistor(NT1) pulls up a gate signal of a current stage up to a gate-on voltage outputted through an output terminal. The buffer transistor(NT4) connected to a control terminal of the pull-up transistor turns on the pull-up transistor under the control of a previous stage. The discharge transistors(NT5,NT6) which are connected to a control terminal of the pull-up transistor, turn off the pull-up transistor under the control of a next stage. The pull-down transistor(NT3) which is connected to the output terminal, pulls down the gate signal of the current stage up to a gate-off voltage under the control of a next stage. The ratio of the driving current of the buffer transistor on a capacitor connected to the control terminal is more than double the ratio of the driving current of the pull-up transistor on a capacitor connected to the output terminal.
