A light emitting device is provided to improve a life span and reliability of an element by preventing oxidation of a cathode and reducing a resistance. A light emitting device includes a substrate(300), a first electrode(340), a light emitting layer(370), and a second electrode(380).The first electrode is positioned on the substrate. The light emitting layer is positioned on the first electrode. The second electrode is positioned on the light emitting layer. Any one of the two electrodes has a multilayer structure. The electrode having the multilayer structure includes a first conductive layer and a second conductive layer. The first conductive layer has a work function smaller than the other electrode and is formed on the light emitting layer. The second conductive layer is positioned on the first conductive layer and has oxidation resistance higher than the first conductive layer. |
