A liquid crystal panel equipped a liquid crystal cell, a first polarizer disposed on one side of the liquid crystal cell and a second polarizer disposed on the opposite side of the liquid crystal cell, characterized in that at least one of the first polarizer and second polarizer is dyed with a dichromatic substance, and that the dichroic ratio thereof is in the range of 40 to 100. At least one of the first polarizer and second polarizer preferably exhibits polarization characteristics of 99% or higher polarization degree and 35 to 45% unit transmission. At least one of the first polarizer and second polarizer preferably exhibits a birefringence, n<SUB>xy</SUB>, of 0.015 to 0.030. This liquid crystal panel, as having these polarizers, realizes a high contrast ratio in the oblique direction, thereby excelling in image display performance.
