The method involves forming oily emulsion directly in a hydrocarbon production well (1) using catalytic surface active agent by dispersing water, where the water is issued from a tank or injected from a surface by a pipe located inside the well or drain. The emulsion is heated using a heating system (5) located in a heating zone of the drain for vaporizing a part of the water. A crude upgrading reaction by conversion is performed in or downstream of the heating zone. The upgrading reaction is catalyzed by a catalyst.
