A power output device in which, to perform fuel cut of an engine when the accelerator is off, the degree of throttle opening of the engine is set to be greater than that when the engine is idled at the speed of a threshold (Nref2)(S330). Also, to resume fuel injection to the engine, the degree of throttle opening is reduced before the resumption so that the degree is a level at which the engine is idled at the speed of the threshold (Nref2)(S340). Further, to resume fuel injection to the engine when the engine speed is not reduced by a motor or when the vehicle speed is low even if the engine speed is reduced by the motor, the fuel injection to the engine is resumed (S420) by using a small correction amount (T2) as an incremental correction amount (Ta)(S400).
