The method involves circulating a cryogenic liquid inside an elongated tube (203) of a heat exchanger (201), where the exchanger has a stack of elongated tubes (203, 203') and wavy fins (17) brazed with each other. A caloric fluid to be condensed is circulated inside the adjacent elongated tube (203'). The liquid has hydrocarbon as its main component, and the fluid has oxygen, nitrogen, argon or carbon dioxide as its main component. An independent claim is also included for a heat exchanger comprising a stack of elongated elements.
