<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide communication equipment and method for easily detecting topology information because transmission delay of a network is not measured by a timer but calculated from the topology information of the network. <P>SOLUTION: When receiving a topology information acquisition request frame, the LINK part 113 disconnects a repeat path by a repeat function switch 114, when receiving a topology information storage frame, the LINK part 113 adds topology information of its own station to the topology information storage frame, when different communication equipment is connected to a second PHY part 110 of a non-receiving side, the LINK part 113 transmits the topology information storage frame from the second PHY part 110 to the different communication equipment, and when the different communication equipment is not connected, the LINK part 113 transmits the topology information storage frame from a first PHY part 110 to topology requesting communication equipment and connects the repeat path by the repeat function switch 114. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
