PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light control operation apparatus preventing dirt and dust from getting thereinto and having an extended life time.

SOLUTION: The light control operation apparatus comprises an operation input portion 21 constructed by arranging a plurality of plane operation type operation switches in a line; an operation decision portion 28 for detecting the operation input to the operation switches to determine at least operation position and operation direction; and a light control level output portion 29 for producing and outputting a light control level signal which controls decrease or increase of the light control level according to the operation position and the operation direction determined by the operation decision portion 28.
